The Sphere Stud Earrings are handcrafted in gold plated brass. Each earring is a round orb finished in black enamel, its surface marked with small engraved stars, set with a black diamond. Butterfly backs. Gold plated. Sold as a pair.
To make room for what would become the world the light first drew itself inward and left a rounded emptiness, and into that darkened space a single thread of light was let down, and from that thread every form was drawn. The black orb is that vacated space and the stars are the places where the thread of light breaks through, so the darkness is not absence but the ground prepared to receive the light. Black diamond, carbon pressed to its hardest and most enduring state, carries the same law that what is formed under the greatest pressure gives the steadiest protection.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for musicians and royalty such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection and alignment and healing.
