The Pearl Drop Earrings are handcrafted in gold plated silver. Each earring is a bow set across its face with white diamonds, and from the knot of the bow a white pearl is suspended as a drop. Butterfly backs. Sold as a pair.
The pearl is the one gem grown inside a living thing, formed slowly in the closed shell in the depths around a single grain, so it holds the teaching that the light gathers precisely in the hidden and enclosed place and is drawn up from there. The bow is the knot, the tie that binds what is above to what is below and keeps the two joined, and the white diamonds are the clear light held along that binding, drawn out of carbon under the greatest pressure to hold the wearer steady and turn what is heaviest into protection.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for musicians and royalty such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection and alignment and healing.
