The Heart Hoop Earrings are handcrafted in gold plated brass. Each hoop is shaped as an open heart that closes around the ear, its smooth gold line marked with small engraved stars, and set into the center of each star is a natural black diamond. Sold as a pair.
The word for heart carries the number thirty two, the count of the paths of wisdom through which the world was formed, so the heart is understood not as feeling alone but as the instrument through which creation is built and read. The vessels made to hold the first light could not contain it and shattered, and the sparks fell and lodged in matter, each soul descending to the places where its own sparks wait in order to free them and raise them back to their source. The stars engraved along the hoop hold the related teaching that even in what seems entirely dark one must search out a single point of good.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for musicians and royalty such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection and alignment and healing.
