The Star Stud Cuff is a rigid open band in 14k gold plated brass finished with black enamel. Seven raised studs sit at intervals around the band, each one engraved with an eight pointed star and set with a natural white diamond.
The eight pointed star is one of the oldest celestial and devotional figures, found across Mesopotamian, Hermetic, and Victorian ornament as a sign of guidance, regeneration, and the meeting of heaven and earth. Carried around the wrist as a repeating motif it reads as a small map of the night sky, the field long tied to navigation, fate, and cosmic order. Black enamel carries its own history, used through Victorian mourning and memorial jewelry as a mark of remembrance and the passage between worlds.
The white diamond forms deep in the earth under heat and pressure and has been associated since antiquity with clarity, endurance, and protection, worn historically as a stone of steadiness of mind.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Courtney Cox, and Uma Thurman. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as spiritual armour, modern talisman, and contemporary relic, made for protection, healing, and spiritual alignment.
