The Amethyst Bangle is handcrafted in 14k gold plated brass and finished with hand painted black enamel. An amethyst is set as a heart at the front and pierced with a single white diamond, with the inscription "As Above So Below, As Within So Without" worked in relief lettering around the band. It is a rigid closed bangle that slides over the hand onto the wrist.
The inscription is the Hermetic axiom from the Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus, the principle that the heavens and the earth answer to one another and that the inner world mirrors the outer. In that tradition the line marks the correspondence between the great and the small, the celestial pattern repeated in the human soul.
The amethyst has long been tied to clarity of mind, sobriety, and spiritual insight, worn since antiquity as a stone of protection and of higher sight. The white diamond has been associated since antiquity with clarity, endurance, and protection.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Courtney Cox, and Uma Thurman. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as spiritual armour, modern talisman, and contemporary relic, made for protection, healing, and spiritual alignment.
