The Snake Chain Bracelet, named If You Knew, centers on a solid silver serpent that curves in an S along the wrist, the body worked with engraved scale detail and set with a row of emeralds, with pink sapphire eyes at the head. It hangs from a gold plated silver chain that closes with a clasp and adjusts between 6.5 and 7 inches, 16.5 and 18 cm.
The serpent stands for transformation, hidden knowledge, and the cycle of death and rebirth, the snake that sheds its skin to renew itself. The emeralds set along the body are associated with renewal and sight, and the pink sapphire eyes with devotion.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for musicians and royalty such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection and alignment and healing.
