The Snake Ring is handcrafted in gold plated silver in the form of two serpents wound around the finger. One snake head is set with a marquise white topaz, each snake have gems as eyes, emerald on one and the opposite ruby.
The serpent is one of the oldest and most universal symbols, carried across cultures as a figure of transformation, hidden knowledge, and the cycle of death and rebirth through the shedding of the skin. In the Hermetic tradition the ouroboros, the snake that takes its own tail, stands for the unity of all things, while in Victorian jewelry the snake ring was a token of eternal love and protection of the bearer.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Courtney Cox, and Uma Thurman. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as spiritual armour, modern talisman, and contemporary relic, made for protection, healing, and spiritual alignment.
