A cocktail ring in 14k gold plated brass, a large aquamarine cabochon bezel set on a wide polished band, with a single black diamond star set into the shoulder. The stone is domed as a cabochon rather than faceted, so it holds a soft watery depth rather than sparkle, and each aquamarine carries its own interior veils and inclusions, so no two show the same.
Aquamarine is the stone of the sea and stands for calm, clarity, courage and safe passage, long carried by travelers and sailors for protection. The star stands for guidance and hope. The black diamond stands for strength and protection.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles. A multiple award winning designer highly recognised as an accessory and jewelry designer, her work has been featured in Vogue, W Magazine, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, and Elle across numerous countries, and carried by the world's most prestigious luxury stores including Lane Crawford, Bergdorf Goodman, H Lorenzo, United Arrows, Isetan, Le Bon Marché, Matches, and Harvey Nichols. She has made custom pieces for musicians and royalty such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection, alignment and healing.
