The Studded Heart Cuff is handcrafted in sterling silver. The band is a smooth polished bar punctuated by sculptural studs, and at the centre of the cuff a heart is built out of small pink sapphires set close together.
The heart is where the soul feels. One layer of a person keeps the body alive, another thinks, and between them sits the one that wants, refuses, loves, and is moved. That is the heart, and it is the layer that acts. Understanding changes nothing until the heart has felt it. Everything in the world holds a piece of light buried inside it, under whatever is difficult about it, and freeing that light is the work we are here to do. It is done through feeling rather than thinking, one thing at a time. The heart can only do it in balance, holding kindness on one side and restraint on the other, because kindness without limit floods and restraint without kindness hardens. White belongs to the one, red to the other, and pink is what the two make together.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for musicians and royalty such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection, alignment and healing.
