The Ruby Heart Bangle is handcrafted in 14k gold plated brass and finished with hand painted black enamel. The polished band carries the inscription Purify the Heart and the Light Will Dwell Within in relief lettering set into the enamel, with a heart charm suspended from the front, flush set with a single natural ruby. It is a rigid bangle that sits close at the wrist.
The inscription holds a teaching found across mystical traditions, that the heart must be cleared before it can hold light. In Kabbalistic terms this is the emptying of the vessel, the Kli, to make room for the Ohr Ein Sof, the Infinite Light, since reception cannot occur where the self still fills the space. The hanging heart stands as the vessel of that inner shift, and the ruby set within it carries the note of vital force, devotion, and protection, the living warmth held at the center once the heart is made clear.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for musicians and royalty such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection and alignment and healing.
