The Virgin Mary Medal Necklace centers on a solid silver double sided medallion with an aged patina, prong set with three round emeralds around the lower rim. One face is the Miraculous Medal of the Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Grace standing with rays falling from her hands and the French inscription Marie conçue sans péché priez pour nous qui avons recours à vous. The reverse is Saint Joseph holding the Christ child, inscribed St Joseph priez pour nous, pray for us. The medal hangs from a hand braided sterling silver chain that thickens to a rope near the pendant and closes with a clasp, measuring 22 inches, 56 cm. A different chain length or style can be requested.
The Virgin Mary medal is worn for maternal protection and grace, the Miraculous Medal carried in Catholic devotion as a sign of her intercession. Saint Joseph on the reverse stands for guardianship and the protection of the home. The three emeralds set at the rim are associated with renewal and healing.
