The Sacred Heart and Virgin Mary Necklace carries two French vintage devotional medals suspended together from a sterling silver figaro chain. The first medal is a round icon of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the second an octagonal medal with a profile of the Virgin Mary. Both hang from the front of the chain, which closes with a secure clasp.
The Sacred Heart is one of the central devotional images of the Catholic tradition, the heart shown as a sign of divine love, mercy, and refuge. The Virgin Mary has been carried for centuries as a figure of maternal protection, intercession, and grace, the guardian who watches over the bearer.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for musician and royalties such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection and alignment and healing.
