The medal shows the Virgin standing with her hands open and rays falling from them, the moment she is understood to be giving grace to whoever asks, after the design revealed to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris in 1830 and carried since for shelter and intercession. The three rubies set at the base stand for vitality and devotion, the red of the heart.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin, who previously worked at Fendi and Tod's in Italy. J Dauphin has had creative offices in Paris, New York, and Los Angeles. Johanna Dauphin is a multiple award winning accessory and jewelry designer.
