The Heart Hoop Earrings are handcrafted in gold plated silver and finished with black enamel. Each hinged hoop suspends a dangling heart charm flanked on both sides by engraved angel wings, and the face of the hoops, the wings, and the central heart are set with white diamonds. Sold as a pair.
The word for heart carries the number thirty two, the count of the paths of wisdom through which the world was formed, so the heart is understood not as feeling alone but as the instrument through which creation is built and read. The wings are the ascent and the guarding of that work, the covering under which the soul is carried and kept, and the stars engraved along the hoops hold the teaching that even in what seems entirely dark one must search out a single point of good.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for musicians and royalty such as Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Uma Thurman and more. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as a modern talisman, contemporary relic, spiritual protection and alignment and healing.
