The Diamond Heart Choker is handcrafted in 14k solid gold with three heart pendants set in line along the chain. Each heart is engraved and inlaid with three white single cut diamonds, nine diamonds in total.
The hearts sit centered on the band so the stones run across the front of the neckline. The necklace closes with a lobster clasp and measures 16 inches, 40 cm.
The heart is one of the oldest devotional symbols, carried through Victorian sentimental jewelry as a mark of affection, memory, and protection of the bearer. Set in a group of three the form has long been read as a figure of completeness, the union of feeling, will, and guidance, and in Hermetic thought as the principle of balance held between opposites.
The diamond forms deep in the earth under heat and pressure and has been associated since antiquity with clarity, endurance, and constancy, worn historically as a stone of protection and steadiness of mind. Within the engraved hearts the diamonds carry these older meanings of fidelity, light, and inner steadiness.
J Dauphin was founded in 2006 by the Swedish French designer Johanna Dauphin. She built her foundation as a designer at Fendi and Tod's in Italy, then worked across Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and her collections have been carried by luxury department stores worldwide. She has made custom pieces for Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Brandi Carlile, Courtney Cox, and Uma Thurman. Every piece is made entirely by hand using old school artisanal methods. The work draws on Victorian iconography and ancient symbols and treats jewelry as spiritual armour, modern talisman, and contemporary relic, made for protection, healing, and spiritual alignment.
